Dr
Daphne Hewson is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Macquarie University in
Sydney. She worked as a clinical psychologist in community health centres,
hospitals, private practice and universities for 25 years. During the past
decade she shifted to an identity as a social health counsellor and has
developed the Master of Social Health program at Macquarie University with
specialist strands for workers in child protection, drug and alcohol
counselling and Indigenous health. Her preferred ways of working have also
shifted – from CBT to Narrative and from quantitative to qualitative
research.
Daf is committed to quality professional training for
front-line workers. Since 1990 she has presented many successful workshops
around Australia and New Zealand on Clinical Supervision, Narrative, Working
with Legacies of Trauma and Abuse, Grief and Loss, and Group Work.
Jude is Daf's partner
Em is Daf's daughter who helps with computer technicalities.
Joyce is Daf's sister who works as Workshop
Coordinator.
